Hydro-FIT has the ability to calculate the correlation between 39 different global climate indices and the input data using a lag time that is supplied by the user. By clicking the 'Graph' button on the "Data Screening" window and using the specified lag time, Hydro-FIT will display plots of the global climate indices vs. the input data for the five climate indices with the highest correlations along with their respective values of R2. The relationship between any of these indices and the data can be displayed on the graph on the right side of Fig. 7 by clicking the radio button next to the desired index. A list of valid sites will be given in the drop-down box in the top-left corner, from which any site can be selected. The graph show here is a plot of the Palmer Drought Index in northern Argentina vs. Madden-Julian Oscillation activity over Africa using a lag time of two months.
